【Overseas Training Report】Lyon, France, November. 13-20, 2022 Mr. Suzuki, Graduate School of Engineering

As part of the Materials Science Special Seminar I, I participated in the ELyT Workshop organized by ELyT (Engineering and Science Lyon Tohoku) held in Lyon, France, in November 2022 and presented my research.

ELyT is a research project between Tohoku University and four French research institutes (INSA LYON, CNRS, ECOLE CENTRALE LYON, and UNIVERSITE DE LYON), and I have been conducting joint research with a professor at INSA LYON since this academic year.

Through the ELyT Workshop, I was able to come into contact with many research projects, including those outside my own research field. Unlike my own research, I was impressed by the fact that many other researchers, especially those from overseas, are conducting their research not mainly through experiments, but through calculations and simulations.

I also had the opportunity to discuss with many domestic and international researchers during the meeting. During these discussions, we were able to discuss how simulation and other methods could be applied to our own research, and we were able to seize the opportunity for future collaborative research.
