【2020.1.21】GP-MS Meeting + Lecture series (Prof. Kawazoe)
In the meeting, three M1 students (Mr, Takada, Mr. Yamamoto and Mr. Matsuo) made presentations about their self-introductions and research topics (Unsaturated lipid, thin film for superconducting element and organic thermoelectric element). We caught a glimpse of their personalities from the presentations they put a lot of thought into.
After the meeting, Prof. Kawazoe gave us the presentation titled “Basics and Limitation in computational materials design” as materials science international Ⅱ.
In the former part, He emphasized that we should doubt if the scientific knowledge which textbooks taught us is truth or not based on actual examples such as “Is the moon a satellite of earth?”.
In the latter part, he explained how to set the parameters and deal with the data to do computational materials design. All students listened attentively to the presentation to take advantages of that for their own researches.
